My costume has a cool weapon. Can I bring it?
Probably yes. Period weapons are allowed as long as they can be peace-tied. As guests enter the festival their weapons will be inspected for a peace-tie. Any unsecured weapon will be peace-tied by staff using heavy duty tie-wraps. Weapons that cannot be secured or are deemed inappropriate will not be allowed in the festival. Under no circumstances are real firearms (black powder or modern) allowed. Bows are fine, but please leave your real arrows at home. The same goes for purchased weapons which also need to be either peace tied or remain in their package.
What does "peace-tied" mean?
Peace-tying a weapon keeps it from being used. As an example, a sword must be sheathed and the hilt of the sword must be peace-tied to the sheath so that it cannot be drawn. Arrows in a quiver must be peace-tied together and the bow unstrung. It is a simple process that helps ensure the safety of the guests.
Can I bring my Pet?
Yes, however only dogs are welcome – you must review and fully comply with Canterbury Village’s Dog Policy. No other pets other than dogs will be permitted on the grounds.
How Long is the Pirate and Princess Faire open each day?
The Pirate & Princess Faire is a weekend event open on Saturday from 9am to 6pm. It's open again Sunday from 12pm to 4pm.
